What are your favorite books? My all time favorite is Gone With the Wind. As much as I love the movie the book is just so much more complex and intriguing. I've read it so many times my hard back version is literally falling apart. It would be nice to listen to it on Audible. Wow! Its been like 9 years since I set up this running book club. Two things I dearly love are reading and running. Combining those just seemed the natural thing. I'm really looking forward to having a "running group" in person club meeting locally and a virtual book club going too.
My favorite book as a young reader was Anne of Green Gables and Little Women. I've read the Anne series several times and Little women too many times to count. I was the child who read the backs of milk cartons and cereal boxes because I read everything I could get my hands on. I wish I had time to do that now. When I was just learning to read my favorite book was Ferdinand the Bull. I loved it so much I had it memorized. I could look at the pictures and say the words without even looking at the text. It still holds a near and dear place in my heart. That's one of the reasons The Blind Side is one of my favorite stories too.
What books take you back to your childhood? Could you close your eyes and see the story in your head now like you did back when you read it the first or fifth time?
FEBRUARY AND MARCH BOOK: In my "mommy group" (yes my kids are nearly grown but I still love my mommy of youngin's friends) we're reading a Wrinkle In Time this month. Have you read it? Want to meet back here in March on a google hangout and talk about it? Let me know! Also if you're local to the Chico, Paradise, Oroville area and you've read a wrinkle in Time, lets get together for a run (more like a 11 min mile these days for me) and chat about the book!
